Family Harvest Church holds
Rally in Washington County

“I can’t describe my overwhelming gratitude for the
favor God has given us this year,” said Pastor Chad
Carter of Family Harvest Church in Salem, Indiana.
“We are in the midst of a move of God!  It is all the
Lord’s doing, and it is truly marvelous in our eyes.”

Pastor Chad Carter, having been ordained by Pastor
Rod Parsley of World Harvest Church in Columbus,
Ohio, spent several years in leadership under Pastor
Parsley.  The impartation he received during his time
at World Harvest Church has carried over into Family
Harvest Church and the results have been evident
thus far.

Since the founding of Family Harvest Church just one
short year ago, the congregation of Family Harvest
Church has made great strides forward for the
Kingdom of God.  They have welcomed dozens of
new visitors and seen many people come to Jesus
in the altars.

FHC has enjoyed the ministry of some of the greatest
ministers and musicians in the Body of Christ today: Evangelists Terry Taylor and Shawn Hyland of World Harvest Church with Pastor Rod Parsley, Pastor David Richie of Calvary Temple Church in Austin, IN, Minister John & Dianne Robinson of Louisville, KY, Evangelist Ray Ammons of Louisville, KY, The Smiths of Indianapolis, IN, and The Clarks of Jasper, AL.

But one of the greatest highlights of Family Harvest Church’s short history thus far, was a visit in June by Dr. Frank Sumrall.  Brother Sumrall is the son of the late Pentecostal pioneer, Dr. Lester Sumrall.  Many in the church today are familiar with the impact Dr. Lester Sumrall had on the Body of Christ, and looked to him as a spiritual father before he went home to heaven.  In fact, Pastor Carter’s pastor was mentored by the late Dr. Lester Sumrall.

The visit from Frank Sumrall was a special treat for Pastor Carter and the congregation of FHC because Dr. Lester Sumrall is part of the spiritual lineage of Family Harvest Church.  “I am privileged to have been ordained by Pastor Parsley and adopted into the line of great men of God like Dr. Sumrall and Smith Wigglesworth,” said Pastor Carter.  “It was a great honor to welcome the son of such a great man of God into our pulpit.”

“It’s interesting,” noted Pastor Carter, “how the Lord works things like this out.  Dr. Sumrall was my pastor’s pastor, and now I am privileged to call his son my friend and brother in ministry.”

In this special service, Pastor Carter and Brother Sumrall locked arms to host a “Holy Ghost Rally” at Family Harvest Church.  The public were invited to attend, and there was a good turnout for the event.

From the very beginning of the service, the presence of the Holy Spirit was evident and strong.  Minister John Robinson of Louisville, Kentucky, started the service with a lively time of praise and worship.  Attendees were clapping their hands, lifting their voices and enjoying the presence of the Lord.

Following praise and worship, Pastor Carter took the platform and welcomed those who were visiting and invited them to become a permanent part of the growing family of FHC.  As he tried to receive the offering, the move of the Holy Spirit continued even further.  Pastor Carter gave words of knowledge and called two people out of the congregation.  When he layed hands on them as the Holy Spirit instructed, they fell out in His presence.  The congregation rejoiced as these were touched by the power of God.

Brother Frank Sumrall was introduced, and he continued in the flow of the Holy Spirit.  He ministered from Acts 2 concerning the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.  He also shared some interesting stories about what it was like growing up in the Sumrall home.  He shared concerning some of the miracles that took place in the life of his father, and shared that the same Spirit of God that moved on the Day of Pentecost is the same Spirit that moved upon believers at the turn of the century at Azusa Street.  He shared that it was the same Spirit that moved in the ministry of his father that is alive and able to move on us today.

As he concluded his message, Brother Sumrall gave an invitation for people to become born again.  Several prayed to receive Jesus as Lord of their lives.  We thank God for those who made a decision to serve Jesus.  That is the greatest miracle of all!

Then Brother Sumrall prayed for those desiring special prayer.  Several came forward in need of healing.  Brother Sumrall and Pastor Carter anointed several with oil and prayed the prayer of faith.  Many people we touched by the power of God, and several people fell out under the power of the Spirit.  It was a beautiful time of ministry in which the Holy Spirit flowed and moved as He desired.  It was beautiful to witness.

Before the conclusion of the service, Pastor Carter asked all those in the congregation who believed they had received a healing touch of God to lift their hand.  Dozens of hands were raised and the congregation praised the Lord together for what He had done in their midst.

Brother Sumrall said before his arrival that this night would be a Holy Ghost Rally.  Having been there and witnessed it with my own eyes, I can say it was nothing less than such.  The Holy Ghost Rally at Family Harvest Church proved to be one of the greatest services at FHC thus far!

Brother Sumrall had a wonderful time in ministry at FHC and said, “I will most definitely be back to Family Harvest Church – count on it!”  For several photographs of this wonderful event, log on to www.FHCglobal.org.

Pastor Carter and the congregation of Family Harvest Church would like to encourage you to come and be a part of what is going on.  The rest of the year promises a continued move of God as FHC welcomes pastor/singer/songwriter Michael L. Tetrick on August 12, and Elder Bill Canfield of World Harvest Church with Rod Parsley on August 19.

FHC’s first ever Camp Meeting will take place on September 16-21, with the following guests:  the legendary Dottie Rambo, The Smiths, The Clarks, John Robinson and more.  For more information, service times or directions, call the FHC church office at 812-883-2523 or log on to www.FHCglobal.org or www.ChadCarter.org.  Limited reserved seating for Pastors and church groups will be available for these events, but you must call ahead.

“I thank God for what He is doing,” said Pastor Carter. “I’m glad He has called and ordained us for such a time as this.  I am just along for the ride, and I pray you’ll come along, too.”
