Organization and Dedication Service of
FAMILY HARVEST CHURCH
July 30, 2006
A monumental event took place in the history of this local
body of believers on July 30, 2006, when a ministry that
was dead and gone was finally laid to rest.
The entity that Pastor Chad & Sarah Carter came here to
pastor was apparently dead before their arrival. That
became more and more evident as the weeks and
months went on after their arrival.
After much time of transition, the congregation were of
like-mind that it was time for some good to come out of
what was beyond repair. Pastor Carter believes that if
something is dead, you should have the good enough
sense to bury it and leave it behind.
That huge step took place on July 30, 2006, when the
previous ministry that was dead and gone was finally laid
to rest, and up out of the ashes was resurrected a new
ministry with life, vitality and vibrancy. Family Harvest
Church was birthed that day and Pastor Chad & Sarah
Carter welcomed the first members into this new entity
as, one by one, those who wanted to become new
members came forward and signed their names to the
roll and received an impartation from Pastor Carter by
the biblical act of the laying on of hands.
This was a wonderful service that was full of hope and
expectation for the future God had in store for this faithful
group of believers.
There was a jubilant time of praise and worship and a
wonderful atmosphere in which the Gifts of the Spirit
flowed freely. The altar time found people in the altars
receiving a touch from the Lord. It was a wonderful time
in the presence of the Lord.
Pastor Carter preached a wonderful message called, "What's in a Name?" He answered that question for us by telling us, "There's A LOT in a name!" He preached on the significance of the name of Jesus in comparrison to the names of the problems and issues we face everyday. He pointed out that, "no matter what name the doctors have called it... no matter what the lawyer or the banker has named your situation... the Scripture declares that He is the Name above all Names!"
He went further in speaking of the importance of having a good name, a good reputation among those that are within, and those that are outside the Church. He shared that in light of such importance, it was vital that our local church separate from the name of its past and take on a new name of pride with a clean slate. In keeping with the vision of Pastor Chad and Sarah Carter for why God had brought them here, the ministry was declared "Family Harvest Church."
Next, the congregation was invited to become new members of this new church. We are thankful to the Lord for those who chose to take a stand, leave the past in the past, and step into a new future of hope and power under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
After a time of ministry and the receiving of new members, the congregation of the new Family Harvest Church partook of Communion together on this morning of new beginnings. What a precious spirit of unity prevailed in this service as brothers and sisters joined together to remember the reason for our faith... the Lord, Jesus Christ.
This service went down in the record books as a turning point for this church. We are confident that we have not seen the Lord's best in our midst yet. We believe the best is yet to come, in Jesus' Name!
