Pastor Chad Carter's 2nd Annual
GOD LOVES EVERYBODY SUNDAY
Sunday, February 10, 2008
On this cool Sunday
morning in February,
the warmth of God's
love was evident as
Pastor Chad Carter and
the congregation of
Family Harvest Church
hosted their 2nd Annual
God Loves Everybody
Sunday.
We were blessed to have
80+ in attendance for
this non-traditional
worship service for
today's generation.
Psalmist John Robinson opened the service with a lively time of praise and worship. The congregation were on their feet, clapping and jumping and praising the Lord.
Following praise and worship, the Family Harvest Youth Choir and Dance Team stormed the platform area leading in another great shout of praise. Everyone celebrated the goodness of God as the Dance team lead us in singing, "We worship you, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We
worship you for who you are... You are good!"
The FHC sanctuary was transformed from a
usual, traditional setting, to an atmosphere
of excitement and praise as an array of
flashing lights lit up the room.
As the Youth Team danced before the Lord,
the congregation lifted their hands, and
enjoyed their time of celebration in Christ.
We are so proud of the Youth Team for all
their hard work and hours spent in
preparation. Deacons Shane and Lisa
Hawkins are to be commended for all their
hard work and time spent developing and building the Youth and Children's Ministries of Family Harvest Church. They have made great strides forward, and it is exciting to see the youth group growing the way that it is.
Following our wonderful time of praise and
worship, Pastor Carter officially welcomed
the congregation to Family Harvest Church
and invited all our visitors to become part of
the family on a more permanent basis.
Awards were given to those who had invited
the most people with them.
The winner in the Children's Ministries age
group was Cana Thompson, who received
a Veggie Tales DVD. The winner in the
Youth Ministries age group was Ashley
Thompson. She received a student edition of The Message Bible. Brother Eddie Pittman had 8 visitors with him in service, and he won the adult age group award. He received a Smith Wigglesworth daily devotional book. We're proud of all those who brought someone with them to church.
Pastor Carter welcomed Wayne Deaton, Ryan Carter, and Chuck Bevers to the platform. They were our musical guests for the day. They performed an awesome selection of songs written by Wayne, including the song, "Turn it Around," which served as a central theme for the day.
The band did a wonderful job performing
their music and the congregation enjoyed it
tremendously! The heavier sound of the band
was an unexpected change from the norm in
our church, but was one of great delight!
Many of the young people identified with this
form of music and opened their hearts to
receive what God wanted to speak to them.
Following the musical performance by Wayne
Deaton, Pastor Carter preached a soul-
stirring message called, "Come on Home."
His message challenged the hearers from
the parable of the Prodigal Son, and his elder brother who remained behind in the father's house. Though one was away from home and the other stayed, both were very much away from the father and needed to take a step to come back home.
FHC is proud to report that out of the 80+ in attendance, 8 people gave their lives to Christ! We are so overjoyed by the Lord's workings among us!
