Resurrection Seed Easter Celebration
April 8, 2007
Family Harvest Church enjoyed
another wonderful Resurrection
Seed Easter Sunday Celebra-
tion in honor of the Lord, Jesus
Christ.
Deacon Shane Hawkins
opened the service by leading
the congregation in a time of
praise and worship. Brother
Shane shared from his heart
and from Scripture and led
them in two more songs of
worship.
Pastor Chad Carter greeted the
congregation and led them in singing "My Jesus, I Love Thee," "Jesus Is The Sweetest Name I Know," and "Oh, How I Love Jesus." He welcomed the visitors and friends of Family Harvest and invited them to stop being visitors and make Family Harvest Church their new home.
Pastor Carter shared about the vision and miracle of the Resurrection Seed and in a spirit of faith and victory, led the congregation in sowing their Resurrection Seed offerings unto the Lord. This congregation is believing God for tremendous results, and are filled with faith and the confident expectation that a mighty harvest is already on the way.
Deaconess Lisa Hawkins then performed a stirring interpretive dance to the song, "Come to Jesus and Live." It was a beautiful tribute to the life, strength and hope we have in Christ.
Pastor Carter preached a soul-stirring message entitled,
"The God of the Garden." He traced the history of man
walking with God in the cool of the morning, all in the
perfection and bliss of the Garden of Eden. He explained
that it was in that garden that the first Adam brought sin into
the world. He took us on a journey through the ages to see
the effect sin has had on man, which has found us in the
sin-infected world we live in.
He jumped ahead to the Garden of Gethsemane and taught of the battle for our souls that took place there. Ultimately, Christ won the battle with the enemy. He silenced His flesh and became obedient unto death. This garden experience was the first step in a restoration of what had been lost in the first garden.
Pastor Carter told of the story of the crucifixion and burial of the Lord, and brought us to the place in Scripture, the Gospel of John, where Mary Magdalene saw Jesus in the garden, believing Him to be the gardener. But when she heard Him speak her name, she knew it was her Lord who had risen from the dead and become victorious over death, hell and the grave. Pastor Carter brought the message full circle to the beginning of the whole issue of sin's start in the Garden of Eden being defeated by the resurrection of Christ at the garden tomb.
When the salvation invitation was given,
fifteen (15) people lifted their hands, and
then made their way to the aisles to walk
to the altars and give their lives to Jesus.
What better way to celebrate the
resurrection of our Lord than to see men
and women appropriate the work of the
cross and the resurrection in their
We thank the Lord for an attendance of 87 at this wonderful service in commemoration of the His triumphant victory over death! □
