ELDER BILL CANFIELD
of World Harvest Church with Pastor Rod Parsley
Sunday, August 19, 2007

For Pastor Chad and
Sarah Carter, few events
at Family Harvest Church
this year have been more
anticipated than this visit
by Elder Bill and Paula
Canfield.

Elder and Mrs. Canfield
are the Senior Elders of
World Harvest Church
with Pastor Rod Parsley
in Columbus, Ohio.

Pastor & Mrs. Carter
were fortunate to be
among the thousands
who looked to the
Canfields as their elders.  During their years at World Harvest Church, Pastor and Sis. Carter learned much and gained a tremendous impartation by sitting under the frequent ministry of Elder Canfield and the other Elders of WHC.  The impartation Elder Canfield makes into the lives of those who attend World Harvest Church is immeasurable, so this visit from him was a very special moment in the history of Family Harvest Church.

On this wonderful morning of blessing and impartation, the congregation of Family Harvest Church were blessed again by the music ministry of Psalmist John Robinson.  Brother Robinson is anointed of the Lord to lead the people of God into His presence  This morning proved to be no different as we lifted up our voices in praise to the Lord.

Pastor Carter began to anoint those with oil who had
special prayer requests, and the altar quickly filled up
with people in need of the touch of God.  He and Sis.
Sarah ministered in the altar, and several fell out under
the power of God as the Spirit came upon them.  It was
a rich time of prayer and impartation in the altars as the
Spirit of God took His liberty to minister to those in need
of a miracle.

After this time of personal ministry in the altars, Pastor
Carter ministered from the Word of God concerning a word that had been given him by the Holy Spirit the night before.  He brought a word out of Habakkuk 2.  He ministered concerning the importance of having a personal vision that reflects God's vision for our lives.

He gave several scriptural examples of what  God's will is for the Kingdom of God, for earthly kingdoms and governments, for our local church, and for our personal lives.  He exhorted the congregation to simply believe the Word of God concerning the vision God has for them, and to pick it up and run with it.

He gave a word that we must begin to
embrace the vision of the Father if our vision
is to speak for itself.  He shared that any
vision that does not reflect the Father's vision
is a vision conceived in vain and will profit us
nothing.  He encouraged the congregation to
continue seeking God with faith that our
congregation will put their hands and feet to
work to build the House of God.

Pastor Carter introduced Elder Bill Canfield
to the congregation of Family Harvest Church
and welcomed him for the first time into the
pulpit.

Elder Canfield shared that Pastor Carter had just touched on a Scripture in Habakkuk that he had in his notes for this very morning.  He shared that he turned to his wife and pointed out that Pastor Carter had hit on his notes.  It is wonderful to see how God works things out and gives his confirmation on the message.  As Elder Canfield said, "He does all things well!"

Elder Canfield shared from the Word of God concerning the importance of having a dream... or "a vision."  He shared with the congregation the need to have more than one vision or dream for the Lord.

He shared from the story of Joseph and how he had a dream given him by God that was not well received by those around them.  It is important that you are selective in who you share your dream with;  not everyone will appreciate what it is that God is trying to accomplish through you. He also shared some truths from Abraham's life concerning the fulfillment of his dream.

Elder Canfield gave an illustration of what it might have been like if Abraham had decided to stop pursuing the homeland God had given him.  He gave the analogy that, what if you had loaded your moving truck down with all your belongings and began a journey to your new home.  What if you decided to stop the trip when you had only gone half-way?  Your family would think you were crazy, and would go on without you till they arrived at the destination you started out for.

Don't be satisfied with making a good start for the Lord.  Don't be satisfied with making it only half-way to the goal.  Don't be satisfied with only making it part of the way to the place you dreamed and envisioned yourself to be.

Elder Canfield shared that if you are unsure yet what your vision for God is, continue to pray until it is revealed.  But in the meantime, the best thing you could do is put your hand to work helping someone else's vision.  He shared, that there is no greater vision that you could help to move ahead than the vision of a man of God given for the future of a local church.

Elder Canfield called everyone forward who desired to be prayed for that God would accomplish His vision through them.  He prayed that God would show them what it is they could do to contribute to the vision of the House that God gives through the pastor of a local church.  Several came forward and desired prayer, and Elder and Mrs. Canfield layed hands on all who desired.

He then called Pastor Chad and Sarah Carter to the platform and declared to the congregation that they were the greatest gift God could have ever given to Family Harvest Church.  He charged us, from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 to, "know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;  And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves."

He instructed the congregation that we are to be at peace among ourselves, meaning, if we do not understand or agree with a decision our pastor has made, we are not to talk and gossip about it.  Rather, we are to pray for them, get behind them and continue to push the vision forward.  He gave practical guidance that if someone rises their voice against our pastor, we are to speak up in his defense and silence those who detract from the vision and seek to sow discord among us.  He then lead the congregation in prayer for Pastor Chad and Sarah Carter and their family.

In conclusion of the service, Pastor Carter and the congregation of Family Harvest Church thanked Elder Bill and Paula Canfield for sacrificing their morning at a place like World Harvest Church in Columbus, Ohio, to come to an obscure place on the map like Salem, Indiana to speak a word of life into our growing church.  We thank the Lord for their ministry and can't wait for them to return again!

We also offer praise to the Lord for 86 in attendance and 5 that received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.  To God be the glory;  great things He has done!
